"It doesn't have to be that way!"  -  This is what I say more than anything else in training sessions with moms who experience bladder incontinence when running, lifting, laughing, coughing and sneezing. Somehow it has become accepted that after you have kids, that this is going to be your fate, for the rest of your life. I say it doesn't have to be that way.

then you can have the confidence to tackle any obstacle. When a mom feels more confident, it shows up in so many other areas of her life.

When I began my personal training career, I was already a mom - a mom who had already had an embarrassing incontinence experience, mid-5k race. As I grew in my knowledge and experience of how the body works and moves, I realized that just as athletics have sport-specific trainers, moms can benefit most from someone that is trained for mom-specific issues. Pregnancy is one of the most amazing experiences that the body can go through, offering some of the most unique challenges and changes in the postpartum.

After acquiring my personal training certificate (National Academy of Sports Medicine - CPT) and two mom-specific certificates (Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist - Core Exercise Solutions and Holistic Pre/Post-natal Corrective Exercise Specialist - Fit For Birth) I know there is so much that you can do to address the diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction and core weakness that may come with   pregnancy. These things should be addressed before engaging in other workouts that may cause further consequences down the road.
